NewGen Airways reaffirms service with an AOC re-certification of international service standard for new airline operators by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) and reveals her long-term business strategy for route expansion to cover Asia, including China, Taiwan, Myanmar, and India. The airline operator is also preparing to penetrate Taiwanese market by the end of this year with an aim to increase nine flying routes within three years. Three new aircrafts will join her fleet soon and 1.5 million travelers are projected for this year.
Mr. Jarurnpong Sornprasit, Chief Executive Officer of NewGen Airways announced that the airline has been granted AOC re-certification for new airline operators by CAAT. For this re-certification, the Authority has improved her audit of new airline operators to meet the standard of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). This serves a great benefit to customers and tourists who plan to travel to Thailand in terms of their enjoyment of convenient services which comply with international aviation standard. Moreover, NewGen Airways aims to maintain this high level of quality and service standard in the years to come.
After receiving AOC re-certification, NewGen Airways is determined to improve her services continually, and plans to complete her three to five year-business strategies for nine route expansion by adding more destinations in Asia Region including Taiwan, Myanmar, and India, to her main existing route between Thailand and China. Myanmar destination will be the first expanded route and is expected to be opened for service by this upcoming October. Then, the airline operator would have a total of 46 routes from 37 to date, which demonstrates the airline’s effort in connecting Asia Region together through air traffics.
The current 37 routes comprise destinations from four main airports of Thailand, namely Don Mueang International Airport, Krabi Airport, Surat Thani International Airport and Phuket International Airport, to 26 cities of tourist attractions in China. For the past three years of service, NewGen Airways has offered services with consistent quality, such that the airline has been voted the most preferable airline among Chinese travelers. Furthermore, NewGen Airways is preparing to welcome two new aircrafts, number 11 and 12 which will join her fleet in the 3rd quarter of this year and one more by the end of the year. Service capacity is expected to increase in order to serve up to 1.5 million passengers in 2017 so that revenue should reach her target at eight billion baht thus potentially reaching the revenue of eight million baht, rising 78 per cent from 4.5 billion baht in 2016. At the end of first half of this year, the airline has already provided services to 700 thousand passengers, which is quite a satisfactory number.
“Thailand is a part of One Belt One Road Policy, a modern Silk Road. High speed railways between China and Thailand will be constructed. This policy would create more jobs and revenues dramatically, particularly in sub-main cities and small towns of China, resulting in growing demands for travelling in foreign countries. The aforementioned situation is beneficial to business of NewGen Airways because Thailand is a favorite tourist destination among Chinese travelers. The inflow traffic will help stimulate higher domestic consumption in Thailand.’’ Said Mr. Jarurnpong.
